How Jo’s Experience Shapes the Work
Jo’s work is shaped by three foundations: clinical depth, leadership perspective and grounded faith.
She brings a grounded, human presence to her work and meets clients where they are as parents, partners, professionals, or navigating multiple roles at once.
Jo has worked inside complex systems and understands how pressure accumulates—both professionally and personally.
Jo does not ask people to abandon who they are, minimize their responsibilities, or reinvent themselves to change.
Together, patterns are identified—where effort overrides regulation, where responsibility crowds out rest, where old strategies no longer serve.
This is why Jo believes change is possible. Not because people need to become someone else—but because they can learn to carry their lives differently.
The three Foundations That Shape My Work
Clinical Depth
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am trained in Brainspotting, the Gottman Method, and neuroscience-informed somatic approaches.
Leadership Experience
Before becoming a therapist, I served in senior leadership roles, including as a Fortune 1000 Vice President and university Dean. I understand high-stakes decision-making and sustained responsibility.
Grounded Faith
Faith is central to who I am. Some clients integrate faith directly into counseling; others prefer it remain in the background. Both approaches are honored.
Clinical Qualifications and Areas of Focus
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Certified Brainspotting practitioner. I am trained in the Gottman Method for couples work and in neurobiology, with specialization in neuroscience-informed somatic and brain–body regulation.
My clinical focus includes Adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, and stress patterns that show up both cognitively and physically. My understanding of ADHD is informed by both clinical training and lived experience, which shapes how practically and respectfully I approach this work.
From the Family Room to the Boardroom
In addition to counseling, I work with high-capacity leaders whose challenges do not fit neatly into personal or professional categories. Leadership pressure, family systems, faith, and identity inevitably intersect.
Whether I’m working with an individual, a couple, or an executive team, this integrated perspective allows us to address the full context of what’s happening rather than treating symptoms in isolation. The work is grounded, direct, and shaped by the reality of your life.
Faith, Perspective, and the Long View
Faith is not a program here; it is who I am. I am a Christian counselor, shaped by a faith that has been tested, questioned, wrestled with, and ultimately deepened over a lifetime.
My story includes real pain and real struggle. When I look back now, what I see is not a perfect path, but a steady faithfulness. Often quiet, often unseen, that carried me through seasons I could not have navigated on my own.
I am not removed from this work. I know what it is to sit on the other side of the room, to need support, and to do the slow, honest work of change. That experience shapes how carefully I listen, how intentionally I pace the work, and how seriously I take the trust people place in this space.
